brunei.
BACK! finally. phew. it wasn't that tough actually, except the part about climbing up the steep steep vertical portion of mount biang. Okay la, I think if they post me there to lakiun camp for the rest of my nsf life i really wouldn't mind. It's a really nice country. Its just that the weather is too hot sometimes, but oh well.
There was once I took a bus back from our AO back to lakiun, and manage to see this family there, a mother holding a baby boy in her hands and a little girl beside her, both were standing at the balcony looking at us in the bus. The kids just gave the very blank look like as though its their first time seeing guys in green uniform. The moment i made eye contact with the kids I just felt so.. ahhh. nice place to live and enjoy life, something like back to the basics where a simple family consist of a father, mother and children and really nothing else. No politics, no real pursuit for more money, no neighbourhood gang fights... nothing.
But okay la think about it, i'll die in the afternoon heat if i live there. I just missed the really really simple days back in my neighbourhood. the nice drink stall auntie who always treats us packet drinks, the big sized pork butcher, the repair-anything uncle, the stationary shop auntie and of course the best memory of all, the piles of dog shit along the streets on my way back home from kindergarden. and when i get back home i have my favourite slide attached to my parents bed (so i'll just climb up their bed and slide down to the floor and start laughing at myself), the half broken wooden toilet door thanks to my dog, the squeezy toilet, small little tv set and the radio set picked up from the streets and ohoh the pink plastic chair that my dog and i always share to watch tv in the afternoons. i missed the old days. (:
see, brunei makes people think back about the past. its a nice place to visit, okay except the mount biang part. LOL super tough to climb up with all the bulky load and stuff.
